It's a cold, sunny Wednesday morning here in Davos. I wanted to walk along the main streets of the town to truly appreciate its charm and beauty.
I started from Obere Strasse, down the hills to the Promenade. I watched the morning crowds as the locals started their day, and holiday-goers making their way to the ski areas, shops opened early, trucks pulling up in front of MIGROS and COOP, loading cartons of goods and produce. It’s a wonderful feeling. I continued my walk to the quieter stretch of the Promenade, now looking at scattered patches of cottages and apartments, and listening to the occasional sound of distant engines as the trains passed by.

A Church on the quiet part of the Promenade
There's the Congress House, where World Economic Forum was held.
I made a turn back via Hertistrasse, which led to the river banks. Here I crossed the railway tracks to the other side of the river, where the most marvelous view and sense of freedom awaited me, as I treaded onto the spacious snow-covered meadow, and gathered in the magnificent sceneries around me.
I will always cherish the wonderful feeling of my feet stepping on the soft fresh snow along the riverbank, and the smell of the cold winter breeze, while I stroll all the way back to Davos Platz. A time to enjoy some peace and tranquility, away from our heavily crowded housing estates and endless rows of city streets.....
I supposed this is the favoured route taken by the locals for their daily walks to the town centre.
Cottages at the foot of the mountains
I didn't need a map to explore this town. Davos Platz from afar.
That's the mountain tracks of the Schatzalp, where we went the night before.
How nice it would be to live in one of these charming cottages...
It's a relatively quiet weekday, a contrast from the Sunday crowds that we encountered on the day we arrived.

The Kinder Class is on, I suppose
