Another beautiful day at Chinese Garden

It rained cats and dogs this morning, while I sent my daughter to school. The weather remained cloudy and cool till the afternoon. By evening, it was sunny again and the evening rays were bright golden.

I decided to let the kids flex their muscles by going to Jurong Lake for a quick jog before dinner.
We had fun taking photos of the garden, and photos of our shadows.

We brought some old loaves of bread with the intention of feeding the fish.

However, we were interrupted by some more aggressive party (the pigeons) who thought the crumbs were for them:(

They chase after us (with the bread), round the lake.....

They came in large packs, and that scared us a bit.......

So we cut short our fish feeding time and escaped from these feathered creatures (I'm always scared of birds flying too near me.............)

We continued our leisurely walk

Visited the statues of China's legendary figures like Yue Fei...

... and Zheng He.

We had fun taking photos of the things around the garden....

We climbed the spiral stairs up the Pagoda....

 to see the beautiful town

"There! I can see our town!"

We can see Chinese Garden MRT station.

The evening sun casts a huge shadow of the Pagoda across the river.

The majestic Pagoda, the way I remembered.......... since childhood.....
(See the photo below for some old photos my dad took back in the 80s)

The sun was setting.........夕阳无限好, 只是近黄昏 (translated: though the view is nice, it doesn't last long because it is dusk and the sun is setting; this also implies that all good things must come to an end).

We took about 1.5 hours for the whole walk and totally enjoyed it..........

These are the old photos taken by my father during our trip to Singapore back in the 80s....

This photo shows me and my mom carrying my sister; behind us, the lake where present day, my kids and I fed the fish...

The Pagoda, looking slightly plain back then......
