I haven't stepped out of the house for two weeks or so. Besides working on the computer from home, spare time was spent shopping for groceries online. So when no delivery slots were left on my usual grocer's website, I had to go out for a very swift grocery shopping today.
"Stay Home. Save Life. #SGUnited."
I stepped out of the house, "armed" with wet tissue, face mask and hand sanitizer. The walkway was deserted, the corridors quiet. I reached the bus stop, seems like I was the only one out now. Before long, I hopped onto the comfortable aircon bus and reached the mall in no time.
As I alighted and walked towards the mall, my first thoughts were, "cool! no crowds, the air was much cleaner and void of all the nasty smell generated in the usually packed bus interchange and MRT station.
On normal days, smokers gather here to take a break (in Sigapore, smoking is banned in covered areas). See how empty now?
McDonald is closed from 19 April to end of the Circuit Breaker.
The now deserted bus interchange. This would not be an unusual sight during a weekend in many western countries though.
Well, the peace ended once I reached the actual supermarket. NTUC was, not surprisingly, full of buzz. People went about stuffing their trolleys with the usual groceries.
I did a speed shopping without spending extra time dilly dallying about...... the usual luxury of strolling along the aisle ...... none of that.....😟
