Sweet Floral Themed............ birthday dessert table

I like February. It's my special month. It's also the shortest month of the year, which makes it more...... precious?

Anyway, my dear little sister (not that little actually, she graduated last year) made a lovely dessert table for our homely celebration.

My cake was Blackforest cake which I got from Cedele@Star Vista.

We also had our last YuSheng (Chinese -style salad with Sashimi Salmon, especially enjoyed during the Chinese New Year Celebration) of the year.

Tiramisu, my way....

I had been wanting to make an easy version of Tiramisu, so the other day, while at NTUC, I thought: why not try using thick cream and Mascarpone cheese while omitting the raw eggs.

Ingredients used:
250g Mascarpone cheese
250ml thick cream
2 Tbsp Xylitol (to replace caster sugar)
250ml Very thick Coffee
3 Tbsp Kahlua syrup (add to the coffee)
1 large pack of Ladyfingers
Pure Cocoa powder to sprinkle

Yu Sheng with the kids

Today the kids and I continued our CNY celebration with Yu Sheng, the one important "salad" of Chinese New Year Celebration. I bought the Singlong ready pack from NTUC, added some Mandarin Oranges to it to freshen it up more. One simple crunchy and satisfying Yu Sheng Salad is done!

CNY preparation - gardening

Today I took leave to visit one of the suburb gardens in Sembawang. I planned to buy some potted herbs and plants to add to my collection.

It was about 9 am when we arrived at World Farm Co Ptd Ltd at Bah Soon Pah Road. Upon arriving I was greeted by big pots of Kumquat plants loaded heavily with big golden orange fruits, all looking grant and majestic, ready to be collected by buyers. The farm is spacious and airy, privilege of located in the spacious north zone of Singapore, away from the Central Business District.
