Saw the video clip on YouTube about this sponsored event called 'A Ride Back in Time' last week, Without hesitation I signed up for it, and brought along baba and the kids. The event was held at The Fullerton Hotel.
Being driven around the Singapore down town in an Audi was a rare privilege, furthermore, we were told to wear a special eyepiece, which has been equipped with LG phone that allowed us to view the area like it was back in 1965. It was a totally new experience, as many of the buildings we have around the city were not in the video clip. At one point, somewhere over the Esplanade area, the video showed us "floating" on the sea, surrounded by bobbing fishing boats!
Although the ride was a short one, we were filled with awe, by the urbanization and city development including land reclamation that brought us to international level within mere decades! Truly something we ought to be proud of.
